drchrono has also announced support for the Apple Watch, both for providers and patients. In their provider app compliments their EHR app by enabling the Apple Watch to view a schedule snapshot, view and respond to drchrono inter-office chats with colleagues, view and respond to messages from patients, and view patient prescription refill requests and lab results.

Their patient app enables the patient to send messages directly to their provider, view upcoming appointments, access a list of their medications, and receive medication reminders to ensure taking prescriptions on time.

The New York Times quotes drchrono’s Chief Executive Michael Nusimow as saying “Just picture a doctor coming down the hallway with his arms full of paper files and devices, who is not really able to engage with anyone; now picture that doctor with his hands free, because a lot [of his necessary data] is on his wrist. The wearable health record has become a reality.”
